The Department of Social Sciences

Social Science involves the study of human societies, old and new, and their institutions. Attention is paid to the organization of jobs and of work, people's private lives and that of their families.
This field of study analyzes people and places: the way of politics, how the law works, the impact of religion in forming people's beliefs and how these all affect people's social interaction with one another.
Students take a look at how people rationalize their way through the social world, as they see it, and how they try to implement various ways of coping with their surroundings.
The department of Social Sciences, at the University of Isfahan, was established in 1969 with only two professors and has grown since then to make a department well equipped with many professionals. The department's night classes were established in 1975 offering education in this field of study for busy people.
The department also offers short courses and seminars to organizations and companies outside the university.
The department offers BA degree in Teaching Oriented Social Sciences and Research Oriented Social Sciences and both MA and PhD degrees in Sociology to qualified students.
