The Department of History was established in 1965 as a small group. Since then, it has grown substantially and now offers a BA in History, as well as MA and PhD degrees in the History of Culture and Civilization, History of Iran during the Islamic Period, History of Islam and Local History.

 The Department of History’s goal is to provide an appropriate education not only for students who wish to become professional historians or teachers of history, but also for those who want to combine intellectual training with acquiring a background in the contemporary world.
